On February 3rd, for the 6th consecutive year we hosted more than 300 community members at our 2011 Black History Month Reception held on site in our North Studio.
Community members got to celebrate the month and meet producers for news, Eye on the Bay, and public affairs shows to pitch events. As well as meet on air talent from news and Black Renaissance, a public affairs show on the CW 44 Cable 12.
This was the first ethnic heritage celebration of 2011 and the 3rd time we have held it in our studio. The other times it has been held at community organizations. We did partner with Urban Solutions SF, a non-profit organization providing support to local businesses owned by folks of color with resources and services.
We were treated to a rousing rendition of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” the Black National Anthem by country recording artist Miko Marks, pictured here, who also in 2010 appeared on two of our public affairs programs.
