Doug Morris


Mr. Morris has been the Chief Executive Officer of Sony Music Entertainment since July 2011. Previously, he served as Chairman of Universal Music Group from November 1995 through early March 2011, as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from November 1995 to July 2010, and as its Chairman and Co-Chief Executive Officer for the remainder of 2010. In July 1995, he formed a joint venture with Universal Music Group for a full-service record label. Prior to that, Mr. Morris served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Warner Music U.S. commencing in 1994 and was soon after appointed Chairman. He served as President of Atlantic Records and Co-Chief Executive Officer of the Atlantic Recording Group from 1980 to 1994. Mr. Morris began his career as a songwriter, producer, and the founder of his own record label, which was acquired by Atlantic Records in 1978.
