Arianas to Expand Company’s Focus on Leveraging Advertising to
Promote Corporate Social Responsibility Efforts that Support the Work of Nonprofits
NEW YORK, N.Y. – March 6, 2018 – CBS Corporation (NYSE: CBS and CBS.A) announced today it has named John Arianas to Vice President, Social Impact Partnerships. Arianas will report to Jo Ann Ross, President and Chief Advertising Revenue Officer, CBS Corporation. He will be based in New York.
Arianas most recently served as Executive Vice President of Advertising & Brand Solutions at Pivot, an independent start-up media network that focused on entertainment content that illuminated issues, sparked conversation and inspired social change.
In his new role, Arianas will further build upon CBS’ efforts to promote Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), with a key emphasis on utilizing CBS’ variety of distribution platforms.

The addition of Arianas will help CBS expand its innovative advertising offerings in the social impact space, building on the public-private model successfully employed by CBS’ EcoMedia unit since it was acquired in 2010.
Through EcoMedia’s advertising programs, national brands and local businesses provide financial support to some of the nation’s most effective nonprofits, funding critical veterans, education, health and wellness, and environmental projects nationwide. In all, EcoMedia has delivered over $85 million in funding and resources to improve the quality of life for more than 35 million Americans.
Prior to joining CBS, Arianas was Executive Vice President of Advertising & Brand solutions at Pivot, where he was responsible for leading the company’s advertising team in all aspects of management and strategy, including partnership development with brands and their media agencies. Under his leadership, the team was able to secure CSR campaigns with Fortune 100 companies as well as leading nonprofit partners.
Before working at Pivot, Arianas served as Senior Vice President of Advertising Sales at Current TV, where he was responsible for managing all east coast operations. Prior to that, he served at Viacom for 13 years representing Comedy Central and MTV, most recently as Vice President of MTV Brand Sales.
Arianas holds a Bachelor of Arts in communication arts and political science from Hofstra University. His professional memberships have included the Ad Club of New York, the Ad Club of Boston, the American Marketing Association and the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications. In addition, he has volunteered for many charitable organizations including New York Cares, the Children’s Aid Society and the White Roof Project. He is currently celebrating his 20th year as a volunteer for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York and also serves as a volunteer firefighter for the Plandome Fire Department.
Arianas lives Manhasset, N.Y. with his wife and two children.
