Safety & Supplier Success!
It is with honor and excitement that I applaud the Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Diversity team at CBS for a successful event in November 2016. I have attended the event every year over the past 5 years and would have to say, last year has been the most successful with immediate procurement activities. The key to success is attributed to our biggest advocate: David Limon, Director of Safety & Environment for Studio Center & Television City. With David’s leadership, we were able to secure a deal that provides Automated External Defibrillator (AED) units, pads and batteries for both Studio Center and Television City with the opportunity to provide CPR AED Training in the future.
- What makes the CBS Supplier Diversity program strong is the advocacy of CBS employees who continue to purchase and believe in diversity.
- When the program started for us 5 years ago, Mike Skinner met my firm at the CBS Sourcing event and began to utilize our services for Automated External Defibrillators and CPR AED Training. When Mike Skinner changed roles, he ensured his predecessor was aware of who we were and our success with CBS.
- At the 2016 event, David Limon continued to sustain our success by introducing my company to the new facility manager, Josh Grolemund who would be working with us in the area of additional safety requests on behalf of CBS Studio Center.
Access to Opportunities, Priceless!
Minority, women and veteran business-owners all ask me, how did you get CBS as a client? My response is I did not find CBS, they found me! By opening the doors to Studio Center for a diversity networking event, bringing suppliers and procurement professionals together in the course of busy days and schedules is priceless. There is NO WAY I could ever call, knock on a door or network to meet David Limon or Mike Skinner. Given security, confidentiality and sheer time, how would we ever connect in today’s busy corporate world? Impossible!
CBS is committed to true Supplier Diversity success and this is demonstrated by the connections you make, relationships you foster, develop and grow. On behalf of the staff I employ, words are not enough to say THANK YOU for the opportunity to serve you and be able to serve your valued employees to mitigate illness, injury and loss of life for your employees at Studio and Television City!
