Tri-State Diversity Council 2017 New York Women in Leadership Symposium

On May 5th Barbara Matos, Vice President, CBS Corporation Diversity and Inclusion, served as a panelist at the  which was held at Proskauer Rose LLP in NYC. The purpose of the Symposium was to bring together a diverse mix of successful leaders who through dialogue relating to contemporary issues helped educate, inspire, and empower attendees to reflect on their own personal and professional goals, and encourage them to become leaders within their workplace and community. The theme was “Be Fearless: Influence, Innovate, and Inspire.” Each panelist spoke on a select topic and shared their personal thoughts, experiences, and stories relating to the topic followed by Q&A and roundtable discussions.  Matos discussed The Difference “Difference” Makes: Double Minority Leadership which covered issues of identity with regard to gender and race, and addressed the equality discourse, tackling the question, how can leadership emerge from such a unique perspective.  “The Tri-State Diversity Council thanks the panelists for inspiring everyone in the room with their energy and experiences and greatly appreciates their passion, support, and dedication to women empowerment efforts.” Said, Sofia Reed, Director of Training, Development, and Regional Operations, National Diversity Council.
