CBSSports.com Honored for Outstanding New Approaches - Sports Programming for A Game of Honor Web Series
FT. LAUDERDALE, FL. MAY 1, 2012: CBSSports.com was honored as a winner at the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ 33rd Annual Sports Emmy Awards in New York City last night. CBSSports.com, a division of CBS Interactive, won its first-ever Sports Emmy in the Outstanding New Approaches – Sports Programming category for their A Game of Honor web series.
Starting October 17, 2011, CBSSports.com webcast an exclusive 10-episode weekly original series leading up to the A Game of Honor premiere on SHOWTIME in December. A SHOWTIME Sports and CBS Sports production, A Game Of Honor is a two-hour docu-drama revealing an unprecedented look at America's two oldest military academies-The United States Military Academy and The United States Naval Academy.
The CBSSports.com Sports Emmy was one of three wins for A Game of Honor including Outstanding Sports Documentary and Outstanding Sports Promotional Announcement – Episodic. Overall, SHOWTIME Sports won a network-best four Sports Emmy Awards.
While the Sports Emmy is CBSSports.com’s first, it is the second time the site has been honored as an Emmy winner. In January 2008, CBSSports.com won an Emmy at the 59th Annual Engineering and Technology Emmy Awards in the Outstanding Achievement in Advanced Media Technology for their work on March Madness on Demand, live streaming video of the NCAA® Division I Men's Basketball Championship.
