Next Generation TV Tuner Combines Show Listings with People's Online Social Graph to Create a More Entertaining TV-Watching Experience
SAN FRANCISCO — Continuing with its mission to make television simple, social and fun, TV.com, a property of CBS Interactive, today launched TV.com Relay, a new way for fans to discover shows with their friends, turning TV-watching into a social event, any time and anywhere. TV.com Relay makes TV-watching into a game—with badges based on "check-ins" and activities online and on mobile devices—and connects people with friends who also watch their favorite TV shows. The TV.com Relay app is available now at relay.tv.com on supported devices such as iPhones, iPads, Android phones and Palm Pre phones; it will be available online and via connected televisions later this year.

"By rewarding TV fans with badges for their TV viewing habits, TV.com Relay adds a new, fun, and social element to TV, while giving fans a simple and easy way to discover new shows through their friends' viewing habits."
Fans can use Facebook Connect to join and invite their friends to chat and earn badges via their mobile devices while they tune in to their favorite shows. Fans can also browse current shows based on their cable or satellite provider on TV.com Relay, which will list all television shows in real time. Concurrently, TV.com Relay shows users what their friends are watching, allowing them to join discussions in progress about their favorite programs. TV.com has more than 15 million unique monthly visitors, and more than 5 million people have downloaded the TV.com mobile app on the iPhone and Android mobile devices.
